PROJECT OVERVIEW
Client: ViaSat
Role: Art Direction, Lead Print Graphic Designer
Team: designer, photographer, print vendor
My tools: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
As Lead Print Designer and Art Director for the 2014 ViaSat Annual Report, I led the end-to-end print production process, translating complex company culture, achievements, and data into a visually compelling and highly structured publication. I established a modular layout system, typographic hierarchy, and consistent visual framework to ensure clarity, readability, and scalability across dozens of pages. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders nationwide, I coordinated asset collection, conducted interviews, curated photography, and fact-checked all content to ensure accuracy and authenticity. In post-production, I used Adobe InDesign for layout and Photoshop for image editing, color correction, and compositional refinement, applying print best practices and technical standards for high-quality production. The final “scrapbook-style” report balanced narrative storytelling with operational precision, delivering a strategic, human-centered, and highly polished print experience that elevated the brand, resonated with audiences, and received direct praise from the CEO. This project reflects my expertise in leading complex, production-heavy print initiatives, managing multi-stakeholder collaboration, and creating systems-driven, high-impact visual communications.
