I was given a short reference video, a set of device monitor screenshots, and limited clinical data as part of the creative brief, with the directive to develop a brochure for pulmonologists and respiratory therapists. There was no photography, no planned photoshoot, and no budget allocated for custom imagery. The timeline was compressed to one week, including internal proofing, regulatory and legal review, and final stakeholder signoff.
Given those constraints, I anchored the project in a human-centered approach, focusing on how clinicians actually interact with patients and ventilators in high-pressure, time-limited environments, and shaping the tone to feel clear, direct, and grounded in real use rather than overly technical or promotional. I was able to capture some imagery of the patient from the video and upscale the images so that they would be high enough resolution for print.
From a design standpoint, I built a flexible grid system to organize the clinical information into a hierarchy that could be scanned quickly, using consistent spacing, typographic contrast, and modular layouts to support readability. I translated screen captures into structured visual elements, ensuring that key claims were presented clearly, substantiated, and aligned with regulatory requirements. Every claim was carefully paired with appropriate qualifiers and references to meet compliance standards while still maintaining a coherent narrative.
The final piece balances clinical precision with an accessible, human tone designed to support both quick reference and deeper engagement in real-world settings.
