Commissioned for a one-of-a-kind residential installation, Cipriano Landscape Design was tasked with constructing a million-dollar violin-shaped swimming pool for private client Jay Dweck. In collaboration with Oceanside Glasstile, the project incorporated rough-edged recycled mosaic tile, requiring a highly intentional and technically precise approach to color composition.
Leading the visual layout, I developed the pool’s full-surface vignette, an exercise in spatial planning, tonal balance, and material translation. Using digital compositing in Adobe Photoshop alongside architectural plan drawings, I engineered a custom gradient that seamlessly transitions between warm and cool color families across a complex, organic form.
While outside the traditional scope of print or graphic design, the project demanded the same level of rigor found in high-level production work: acute color sensitivity, systemized layout thinking, and sustained attention to detail at scale. The final execution demonstrates how disciplined design methodology can extend beyond the page, resulting in a visually cohesive and technically sophisticated environment.
